The Saudi stock market ended Sunday’s trading session solidly in the green. The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) closed up 110.56 points or 1.15 percent to 9,725.17, after being up as much as 1.29 percent.
Micro cap advancing 1.68 percent outdid rest of the market cap indices, the GulfBase said in its market commentary.
Thirteen out of Tadawul's 15 sectors ended the day with modest gains, accumulating an aggregate of 1,146.5 points.
Petrochemical Industries and Industrial Investment posted the biggest gains among sectoral indices, marching higher by 3.05 percent and 1.55 percent respectively. National Petrochemical Co. rose over seven percent, closing at SR27.91.
Only Agriculture and Tourism sectors showed nominal declines.
Most of heavyweights finished to the upside, with petrochemical giant Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) surging by 3.59 percent and Kingdom Holding Co. 2.52 percent.
SABIC regained its most liquid status on Sunday, pumping SR839.5 million into the market and exceeding SR100 level.
Advancing stocks outnumbered decliners by a huge margin of 140 to 16 and the prices of 7 companies remained unchanged.
AXA Cooperative Insurance and Saudi Cable Company remained at top positions among all Saudi equities, soaring up 9.97 percent and 9.90 percent respectively.
AXA has surged more than 22 percent in one week. Interestingly, Cable volume went 14.5 times high over its 50-day average.
Jarir Marketing Co. shares climbed to a fresh all-time high of SR239.5 before closing at SR239.18, up 1.75 percent.
A good amount of volume 367.4 million shares liquidated at Tadawul, an increase of 23.7 percent as compared to previous level. The value of these shares totaled SR9.5 billion.
Most of the trading was concentrated in Dar Al-Arkan with 54.6 million shares, capturing 15 percent of the market volume. But the company is still trading below its par-value.
