Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), received at his office in Riyadh Rod Harris, New Zealand Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.

The delegation that accompanied the envoy included Greg Lewis, deputy head of mission, Joanne Dow, second secretary, Tony Davies, education attache, Andy Shenk, CEO Auckland UniServices Limited and Sandie Gusscott, general manager Educaiton Auckland UniServices Limited.

Nahla Nasser Alanbar, private executive assistant to the chairman and Fahad bin Saad bin Nafel, executive assistant to the chairman, also took part in the meeting.

The meeting began as the ambassador said that the purpose of his visit was to bid farewell to the prince as he has come to the end of his term as New Zealand’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, the two discussed various issues on the investment and economic fronts.

The prince wished the Ambassador all the best on his future endeavors.

The Prince’s investment in New Zealand through KHC is in the financial sector through Citigroup.

In 2011, Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation – Global (Registered in Lebanon), that is chaired by Prince Alwaleed has made a donation of $100,000 for much needed relief aid for the Christchurch earthquake victims in 2011.

The allocation and distribution of the donation to those in need was in coordination with the New Zealand Red Cross that had launched the “New Zealand Red Cross 2011 Earthquake Appeal”.

The donation also helped people living in their homes without power, water or sewerage, and people forced to leave their home because of damage.
