The Royal Commission of Jubail (RCJ) organized a conference on construction opportunities, in collaboration with MEED, in which experts and specialists took active part.

Ahmed bin Mutair Al-Balawi, GM of technical affairs in the RCJ, presented the Ras Al-Khair industrial project and explained the government's aims and objectives, especially its general plan, existing industries, and present and future opportunities.

Al-Balawi referred to Waad Al-Shamal Phosphate Company's offer and its future investment plans as well as its opportunities, in addition to another plan presented by Saudi AutoTech Company for its sulfuric acid project.

In addition, he presented two working papers about the RCJ's environment, health and safety standards, and quality of projects.

Discussions also focused on securing projects' quality, sustainability and safety in Jubail and Ras Al-Khair.

The working sessions of the conference on the first day dealt with construction opportunities in infrastructure, water projects, public utilities and electricity.

Discussions covered construction opportunities in residential neighborhoods in Jubail Industrial City, methods to meet the continued population growth, as well as Royal Commission of Jubail and Yanbu's (RCJY) industrial development programs, and construction opportunities and projects in Jubail II.

Participants praised the conference as it enabled them to discuss important topics about the main projects and related aspects, including engineering issues, designs, feasibility studies, and companies' needs in dealing with such projects.

They indicated that there were immense opportunities and benefits available in the RCJY cities until 2030. They had a word of praise for the transparency and clarity of the commission.

Al-Balawi confirmed that the conference was an important step to clarify the existing opportunities for companies wishing to involve in construction projects in industrial, development and service areas in the cities of the Royal Commission.

During his speech at the conference, Al-Balawi said: "The RCJY has exerted great efforts in planning for its projects, and adopted a partnership approach with all investors."

The conference organizing committee said more than 500 people took part in the event, which demonstrated the conference's importance and the keenness of different sectors to cooperate with the Royal Commission, learn more of its plans, opportunities, and projects in its three industrial cities.

The RCJ PR department organized a program for participants, which included a field trip to the residential, commercial, recreational and industrial areas in Jubail Industrial City, and a visit to Jubail II project.

Participants also viewed the RCJ experiences in establishing various facilities, as well as its construction projects in the industrial area and Jubail II.
