Riyadh will host the 10th edition of Saudi Water and Power Forum with a focus this year on key challenges, policies and strategies needed to ensure sustainable future of the power and water sectors in the Kingdom.

“The 2014 water and power forum will take place from Jan. 12 to Jan. 14 at the Al Faisaliah hotel and the new “solution-based” format this time will provide answers to the key challenges, policies and strategies needed to ensure the sustainable future of the power and water sectors,” said the organizers.

The show is being organized with the support of the Ministry of Water and Electricity.

It is the premier water and power forum in the Kingdom, which plays key role in establishing connections between various stakeholders and partners with substantial agenda for sustainable growth.

The forum also focuses on value addition by creating opportunities, building relationships and fostering innovation.

Notably, water scarcity is a stark reality as freshwater makes up a very small fraction of the available water in the Kingdom and the sustainable availability of potable water is a major concern in the region mostly surrounded by sea full of saline water.

Significantly, the government is working at various levels with ambitious plans to upgrade, expand and transform the power and water sector.

Moreover, the Kingdom is also working to improvise and develop desalination method of water for potability to fulfill drinking water requirements.
