Recently, Basil Al-Ghalayini, chairman of BMG, hosted the annual awards ceremony for the winners of last year’s Safe Driving Life Saving (SDLS) competition.

The event was held in the presence of Princess Al-Bandari Bint Abdulrahman Al-Faisal and number of diplomatic guests, businessmen, VIPs and media representatives, in order to strengthen the bonds of cooperation and exchange of experiences, and best professional practices in the non-profit sector.

Princess Al-Bandari in her speech highlighted the importance of the relationship between King Khaled Foundation and BMG Foundation, which is mainly based on the common goal of serving the community in Saudi Arabia. She emphasized the importance of the SDLS campaign in preserving and protecting next generations.”

Al-Ghalayini said the SDLS campaign is an initiative that encourages students at universities of the Kingdom and the Gulf to contribute to creative and innovative ideas in order to design a media campaign that helps in reaching the highest rates of safety on the roads.

Al-Ghalayini gave an overview of BMG Foundation’ s initiatives and activities during the past 19 years.

Among its supporters are King Khaled’s Foundation, Tamer Group, Haji Husein Alireza (HHA), UCA, Med Gulf, Saudi Investment Bank, NCB, Orix, and AkarOne along with prominent academic institutions such as the Gulf University, Al Dammam University, Al Faisal University and King Abdulaziz University (KAU).

Al-Galayini said 181 accidents took place every day and efforts should be intensified to eliminate them.

Hussein Shobokshi, honorary consul general of the Czech Republic, stressed the need for increasing community awareness about the importance of safe driving.”

The winners of SDLS competition were presented awards: Student Omar Al-Sabbagh from KAU received a car provided by HHA as the first prize. Tazim Khan of Al Faisal University received a laptop as his second prize.
