FRANKFURT: German software giant SAP said that the costs of the expansion of its cloud or Internet-based computing business weighed on overall profits in 2014.

The group was nevertheless confident that it remained on the right path.

SAP said in a statement that underlying or operating profit fell by 3.0 percent to 4.33 billion euros ($5.1 billion) in 2014.
