The benchmark Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) marked another handsome gain of 1.1 percent, closing the Monday’s session at 9,882.36. Trading in a range of 129 points, it added 107 points for the entire day.
Large cap with 1.2 percent upward jump remained prominent among market cap indices. Most of large caps finished to the upside, with SABB surging by 3.54 percent, Riyad Bank 3.07 percent and bellwether SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corp.) 1.52 percent.
Thirteen out of Tadawul's 15 sectors closed in the upward territory, accumulating an aggregate of 1,311 points.
Banks & Financial Services came out as the best performing sector, rising over two percent and closing just below the 21,000-mark. Insurance and Agriculture sectors followed it, advancing 1.89 percent and 1.5 percent respectively.
Only Multi-Investment and Retail sectors could not manage for gains, going down a little and losing 25 points jointly.
Advancing stocks outnumbered decliners by a margin of 94 to 55 and the prices of 12 companies remained unchanged.
Share price of Gulf General Cooperative Insurance rallied to a maximum growth of 9.95 percent, clinching the spot as top gainer amongst Saudi stocks. The company volume was 345 percent greater than previous day, pouring more than two million shares and closing at SR42.1.
Bupa Arabia Insurance was another key gainer, which surged 9.86 percent for the day. Bupa traded near its 4-year high before closing at SR152.99.
Furthermore, Alinma Bank (+6.87 percent) with trades over 47 million secured its most active status. The value of these shares totaled SR1.1 billion, a relative market share of 14.2 percent.
Tadawul total turnover set sold approximately 252 million shares worth SR7.7 billion. The 50-day average for trading turnover is closer to 281 million shares worth SR9.5 billion.
Saudi banks stay in the limelight
