The Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) is leading a delegation of 40 major exporters for the upcoming Saudi Build 2013.

The 25th international construction technology and building materials exhibition, described as the Kingdom’s largest construction fair, is being held at Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center from Nov. 4-7.

Surinder Bhagat, second secretary (commerce) at the Embassy of India, Riyadh, said the Indian pavilion would exhibit products ranging from building materials to construction machineries.”

The participating Indian companies are established exporters of a variety of “high quality” materials, including granites, marbles, ceramic tiles, natural stones, fiber cement boards (FCBs), walls, flooring, cladding, doors, roofing and pre-engineered steel buildings.

They also offer building and roofing solutions, fasteners and structures, and industrial and construction equipment and materials such as hoists, work platforms, pan mixers, concrete mixers, reverse drum mixers, material handling carts, bar bending and cutting machines.

Scaffolding frames, construction fittings, brass builders, hardware, bathroom fittings, site trucks, brake motors and home needs, and white goods like air conditioners, LED TVs, chest freezers, air coolers, washing machines, clothes dryers, stabilizers, bread makers and garment steamers are among the other items the companies offer.

The bilateral trade is growing steadily. Saudi Arabia is the 4th largest trading partner for India, Bhagat, who is also the Indian embassy spokesman, told Arab News, adding that the two-way trade exceeded $43.19 billion during 2012-2013.

Over the last 24 years, Saudi Build has emerged as the largest business-to-business construction fair in the Kingdom. It provides contractors, real estate developers and building owners with a full range of solutions and the opportunity to access the Saudi and regional construction markets under one roof.

Now in its silver jubilee year, Saudi Build, with a total of 500 international exhibitors, will reflect how, with around SR375 billion worth of projects in the pipeline, Saudi Arabia is a driving force for construction sector in the region.

The construction technology and building materials exhibition will also serve as a platform for building new business opportunities in the construction sector of the Kingdom through displays and presentations of the latest in technology, machinery and equipment, according to the exhibition organizers.
