RIYADH: The Saudi Credit Bureau (SIMAH) is likely to start operations in the coming weeks, once it receives the license, Al-Eqtisadiah reported, quoting sources.

The bureau will provide vital credit information data to the companies, it added.

The agency will also release reports on the position of the Saudi market, government funds, bonds, financial instruments and stocks and sovereign debt.

The bureau will work in accordance with international professional standards.

Acting in coordination with a number of stakeholders, the agency will gradually expand its work in the market and implement awareness programs and workshops with the aim of adopting suitable mechanisms of operations.

The Saudi Capital Market Authority announced in September that it received applications from six companies this year, seeking licenses.
