The German Saudi Arabian Liaison Office for Economic Affairs (AHK Saudi Arabia) together with Sadara Petrochemical Company organized an event in Germany at the Dusseldorf Chamber of Commerce and Industry to promote the transfer of know-how and technology in the petrochemical sector. Fifty high-ranking sector experts from Germany and Saudi Arabia attended the event.
After a short welcoming by Robert Butschen, head of foreign trade division at the Dusseldorf Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Delegate of the German Industry & Commerce for Saudi Arabia and Yemen Andreas Hergenrother spoke about recent developments and challenges in Saudi Arabia.
The speeches were followed by presentations by Mohammed A. Alazzaz, value parks department of Sadara Chemical Company who gave a presentation on business opportunities for German companies with projects of SADARA and Faisal Al-Bafarat, deputy governor of SAGIA (Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority) who talked about the investment opportunities in the Kingdom.
Sadara, a joint venture between Saudi Aramco, one of the world’s leading energy suppliers, and the Dow Chemical Company, a multinational science and technology company, will construct, own and operate a world-scale integrated chemicals complex in Jubail Industrial City II, in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom.
Once completed, the Sadara complex will represent the largest petrochemical facility ever built in a single phase. Sadara and the adjoining PlasChem Park will establish a world-scale manufacturing footprint that delivers a full range of value-added, performance products destined for the emerging markets of Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa.
