The Saudi stock market recorded mild losses (-0.51 percent) on Sunday. After a steep decline of 80 points earlier, the benchmark Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) spending entire session in the downward territory finished 49.79 points lower to 9,736.79.

Most of the sector indices ended negatively, paring an aggregate of 1,052 points.

Hotel & Tourism suffered worst of all sectors, showing a reduction of 1.84 percent to close the day at 22,421.42. Real Estate Development and Petrochemical sectors followed it, declining more than one percent.

On the positive side, Agriculture & Food Industries sector rose 1.31 percent to close at 11,695.51.

Most of heavyweights finished to the downside, with Riyad bank dipping by one percent and market leader SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corp.) 0.69 percent.

The total number of falling stocks exceeded to the total number of rising stocks by a huge margin of 101 to 42.

Amanah Cooperative Insurance delivered a largely negative performance, slipping 6.2 percent for the session. Amanah shares plunged to a new 2-year low, closing at SR28.68.

New player Al-Hammadi Company for Development and Investment made the biggest jump among all Saudi equities, achieving a maximum growth of 9.97 percent.

Tadawul volume set sold approximately 167 million shares, a decrease of 17 percent as compared to previous level and 38 percent below the 50-day average of 270 million shares.

Liquidity also shrank to SR5.3 billion, 39 percent lower than the 50-day average level.

Tihama Advertising & Public Relations Co. volume went 5.8 times high over its 50-day average, liquidating over three million shares. Dar Al-Arkan Real Estate with 25.6 million shares topped the volume chart, capturing 15.3 percent of the overall market volume.
