On Sunday, Saudi stock market posted its largest intra-day increase (four percent) of 2015.
The benchmark Tadawul All-Share Index surged 433 points just after Sunday’s opening bell and finally added 368.8 points, closing at 9,619.97.
Market’s largely positive reaction to the announcement of approving the measure that allows for direct foreign investment is likely to remain in force.
Investors seemed to be more aggressive in buying stocks as more than 551 million shares exchanged hands on the Saudi stock market, an increase of 58.4 percent. This is the highest volume in 11 months.
Bulls continued to pump more and more liquidity, which rose to a significant level of SR14.9 billion, up 64.6 percent over the previous day. This is the highest value traded since Aug. 25, 2014.
Large cap with +4.24 percent positive changes remained prominent among the market cap indices, the GulfBase said in its market commentary.
Advancing stocks outnumbered decliners by a huge margin of 154 to 6.
Trade Union Cooperative Insurance turned in a splendid performance among all Saudi stocks, soaring up 9.86 percent for the day.
Petrochemicals giant Saudi Basic Industries (SABIC), the country’s biggest listed firm, made the biggest jump among big players, which soared up 9.8 percent to finish at SR 95.75.
Despite a significant drop in quarterly revenue, the SABIC has showed a remarkable change on Sunday.
Five Saudi companies including BUPA Arabia for Cooperative Insurance (SR 210.15) hit a fresh all-time high.
Ten companies including Advanced Petrochemical Co. (up 7.31 percent) win a tenth consecutive session.
Trading activity was led by Dar Al-Arkan Real Estate Development, which liquidated roughly 74 million shares, a relative market share of 13.4 percent.
