Saudi stocks took another dip Wednesday, as the Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) fell further 22.3 points or 0.27 percent to close at 8,337.32. The index performed within a low range of 27.2 points.
TASI’s year-to-date gains reached to 1,536.1 points or 22.59 percent. The market cap indices closed in a mixed fashion.
Only five out of Tadawul’s 15 sectors witnessed a positive change, accumulating 93.2 points for the day. Remaining twofold sectors closed in the downward territory, trimming an aggregate of 377.6 points.
Sectoral performance was dominated by Real Estate Development and Retail sectors, offsetting their performance by more than one percent positive-negative change.
Most of heavyweights slipped from previous day’s level, with Kingdom Holding dipping by 2.24 percent and Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily) 1.15 percent.
The market breadth was positive, with 68 stocks witnessing advances and 57 others marking a decline.
Taiba Holding Co. and Bupa Arabia for Cooperative Insurance came out as key gainers among all Saudi stocks, marching higher by 4.41 percent and 4.34 percent respectively.
Yamamah Saudi Cement, on the other hand, recorded the biggest losses, going down by 3.45 percent to close the day at SR 63.
Tadawul investors showed a lackadaisical attitude, as the market's volume went 36.5 percent below the 50-day average of 197 million shares. Turnover also reduced to SR 3.6 billion, 30 percent lower than the 50-day average of SR 5.1 billion.
Most of the trading was concentrated in Emaar the Economic City with seven million shares, a relative market share of 5.6 percent. Gassim Agricultural Company was a significant winner among most active stocks, advancing by three and half percent.
