After a couple of days of trading in the green, the Saudi stock market took a reversal Sunday, dropping more than 24 points.

The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) ended Sunday's trading in the red at 8,301.15 points, down 0.29 percent, from its previous day close at 8,325.28 points. It performed within a trading range of 46.8 points.

Most of the sector indices ended negatively, paring an aggregate of 281.6 points. Transport switched its position from top performer of previous day to the worst performing sector of the day, declining by 71 points or 1.18 percent. Real Estate Development was another significant declining sector, going down by 1.13 percent to 4,749.60.

Only four sectors including Multi-Investment moved upward slightly, showing a collection of 79 points jointly.

Most of heavyweights slipped from previous day’s level, with Saudi Telecom Co. dipping by 1.41 percent and market leader SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corp.) 0.46 percent.

Market breadth with advance-decline ratio of 0.56:1 remained unfavorable.

Insurance companies were the significant winners amongst Saudi stocks, with new player ANB Cooperative Insurance Company outdid rest of its peers for the fourth straight day, surging 9.77 percent further and closing at SR 14.6.

On the other hand, Tourism Enterprise Co. (Shams) showed the worst performance, declining 3.61 percent for the day.

Most of the trading was concentrated in Alinma Bank with 26.7 million shares, capturing 17 percent of Tadawul volume. It also topped the value chart, pumping SR 389.3 million into the market.

Tadawul total volume set sold approximately 157 million shares, an increase of 6.2 percent as compared to previous level. The value of these shares reached to SR 3.9 billion.

The 50-day average for trading turnover is closer to 183.8 million shares worth SR4.86 billion.
