The benchmark Tadawul All-Share Index gained nearly twenty nine points or 0.34 percent to end Monday's trading at 8,618.63 points level.

It wavered within a hundred points trading range, the GulfBase said in its market commentary.

The market cap indices all finished to the upside. Most of the sector indices showed modest gains, accumulating an aggregate of 928.6 points.

Tourism and insurance were major gainers, which marginally increased by 2.55 percent and 2.38 percent respectively. Petrochemical Industries index followed them and added 1.12 percent.

On the other hand, Retail and Media sector suffered worst, each turning down by 0.93 percent.

Saudi Telecom Co. and market leader Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) remained at top among big players, surging by 1.78 percent and 0.93 percent respectively.

Advancing stocks outnumbered decliners by a margin of 95 to 51 and the prices of 16 companies remained unchanged.

Amana Cooperative Insurance and Malath Insurance topped the performance chart at Tadawul, soaring up 9.98 percent and 9.54 percent respectively.

On the other side of the spectrum, Arab Cement became the biggest loser of the day, down 4.68 percent.

Market activity was a little low for the day; specifically 207.4 million shares worth SR5.3 billion were liquidated at Tadawul.

This turnover reflects a daily decrease of 16.2 percent on volume basis and 9.2 percent in terms of liquidity. The 50-day average for trading turnover is closer to 359 million shares worth SR9.4 billion.

Dar Al-Arkan Real Estate continued its most active status, liquidating 28.4 million shares and contributing 13.7 percent to the overall market volume. But the company is still trading below its par value.

National Agriculture Marketing Co. volume went four times high over its 50-day average but the company closed down by 3.62 percent, hitting a fresh 52-week low.
