The benchmark Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) dug in at 8,017.77 points last week, adding nearly half percent.

Moving sideways for most of the week and within a range of 102 points it accumulated 36.7 points for the entire week. On year-to-date basis, the index showed a collection of 1,216.6 points.

The market capitalization of Saudi stock exchange reached to SR1.6 trillion, increasing slightly from the previous week's value. Among market cap indices, small cap performed well relatively and rose 1.3 percent.

Sectoral performance remained positive, as 9 out of Tadawul’s 15 sectors finished to the upside, accumulating an aggregate of 1,480.9 points in a week.

Hotel & Tourism turned in a splendid performance among sectoral indices, surging nearly five percent to 15,429.07. It also reflected a year-to-date change (+112.7 percent) which is highest amongst all Saudi sectors.

Retail and Construction were other significant advancing sectors, increasing by 3.47 percent and 2.78 percent respectively.

On the other hand, Insurance sector posted the largest losses, falling 1.97 percent to close the week at 1,107.74.

Most of heavyweights marched higher from previous week's level, with Kingdom Holding rising by 2.86 percent, Samba Financial Group 1.45 percent and market leader SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corp.) 1.3 percent.

Weekly market breadth was positive, whereby 79 symbols closed in green and 73 closed in red, while 5 remained unchanged.

Abdullah A. M. Al-Khodari Sons Co. (+9.24 percent) and National Gypsum Company (+8.45 percent) showing notable weekly gains became the top performers among all Saudi companies.

Investors continued to flow an optimal level of turnover; specifically, 732.7 million shares worth

SR20.8 billion changed hands on the Saudi stock market last week. Furthermore, upside-downside volume ratio of 1.13:1 remained positive.

Weekly volume chart was led by Alinma Bank with trades of over 80 million shares. While, SABIC pumping a liquidity of SR 1.7 billion secured its most liquid status, closing at SR97.75.

Most of the major benchmark indices at GCC stock markets ended the week in green.

The benchmark GulfBase GCC General Index closed the week higher at 4,639.46 points level, adding 25.87 points or 0.56 percent for the entire week.
