Riyadh-based Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) launched on Tuesday a joint venture with Huawei Authorized Information and Network Academy (HAINA) that will train young Saudis in ITC-relevant fields leading to job opportunities at Huawei.

TVTC is the first government entity in the Middle East to open HAINA Academy according to TVTC’s official. The event at Communication and Information Technology School in Riyadh was attended by TVTC Gov. Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafees and Huawei Vice President for Learning and Certification Department Tuwenjie, who signed the final agreement.

The TVTC governor said the existing partnership between the TVTC and Huawei mark the extension of the partnerships between the organization and some major companies in several specialized areas in order to improve the quality of training at the level of national cadres.

It also aims to qualify Saudi youth with the latest international technical skills and enrich their experience, which will enable them to compete in the labor market and get suitable jobs after graduation.

He pointed out that such partnerships in the areas of ICT between TVTC and the world's largest ICT companies will have an important role in the development of knowledge economy.

He added that this partnership with Huawei will be expanded with the opening of another branch at the School of Communications and Electronics in Jeddah in the future.

Under the agreement, TVTC and Huawei will train and employ 100 Saudi graduates from Riyadh and Jeddah institutions. They will be employed at Huawei and its partners within the Kingdom, following their rehabilitation agreement on the latest professional certificates at the academy.

Al-Ghafees observed: "In the framework of cooperation, a number of TVTC’s trainers were recently trained at Huawei's headquarters in China to develop their skills in the ICT sector based on the latest technologies in the field of cloud networks and systems, unified control and visual communication in order to implement these programs at TVTC’s colleges of communications."
