Interior Designer Rosaline Tashdjian, with her Western and US educational background, highlighted interiors in Saudi Arabia focusing primarily on high-end private residential and commercial projects at a presentation organized by Almutlaq Holding represented by its new brand, Roomz.
Invitees included active female bloggers in social media sites at the “ladies-only” educational lecture in the showroom located at the intersection of the Northern Ring and King Abdul Aziz roads in Riyadh.
The purpose of the seminar was mainly to explain the mechanisms associated with the art of decorating in terms of colors and utilization of space and light, as well as focusing on the need to engage someone who specializes in interior design, or referring to books in order to learn more about the basics of decorating.
Tashdjian said it was necessary for interior designers to have the sufficient experience in architectural methods and techniques, as well as the materials and various ingredients in the implementation of decoration work. Also, they should be familiar with the types of paints for walls and their characteristics, as well as the use of colors and their interaction with one another, and the degree of their absorption for light and its reflection; to execute a harmonious and a smooth design in the house. In addition to the type and the location of furniture used at home, it is also necessary to ensure that the use of colors suits the personality of the residents.
Tashdijian explained: “The impact of interior decoration extends to the physical, spiritual, and social needs for the people.
Also, the type of furniture and the colors used at the home should have a strong influence on our behavior and moods, so the choice of colors will depend upon the extent of feeling comfortable; therefore it is always preferred to use the help of someone who is specialized in this industry or a specialized showroom such as Roomz.”
