Bab Rizq Jameel, one of the Abdul Latif Jameel Community Initiatives (Community Jameel), has helped to generate 44,793 job opportunities (unverified) in Saudi Arabia in the first six months of 2015 — an increase of 7,235 job opportunities and a 19 percent increase on the same period in 2014.

Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel, president of Community Jameel, and chief job creation officer and BRJ Job Creation Team Leader, commented: “These results would not have been achieved if it hadn’t been for the guidance by Allah, and the unlimited support to BRJ by the government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Crown Prince Mohamed bin Naif, and Deputy Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman, who was keen to support BRJ through King Abdullah International Foundation for Charity and Humanitarian Deeds."

Abdul Rahman bin Abdel Aziz Al-Fehaid, executive director of BRJ in Saudi Arabia, said the first half results were special, with the Direct Employment Program for Men and Women achieving the largest percentage of all the provided opportunities, reaching 21,601 job opportunities – more than 48 percent of the total opportunities created through BRJ’s programs.

The Productive Families projects were in second place, providing 12,449 job opportunities, a percentage of 27 percent of the total jobs provided, and the Small Business Financing Program for Men and Women provided 1,077 job opportunities (2.4 percent of the total number of job opportunities provided), while the Training Resulting in Employment Program provided 825 job opportunities (1.84 percent of the total) and Taxi and Truck Ownership provided 298 and 104 opportunities, respectively.

Rola Basamad, senior GM of BRJ — female recruitment, stated that female recruitment has achieved a record number in the first half of 2015 and especially in the working remotely program, which created a record number of 6,526 job opportunities for females in the first six months of 2015, representing an increase of more than 14 percent.
