Dar Al-Arkan Real Estate Development Company has received this year’s commercial project of the year award for its Alqasr Mall Project.

Mohamed bin Fahad Al-Nafjan, PR officer at the chairman’s office, received the award on behalf of Dar Al-Arkan, chairman Yousuf Al Selash.

It took place during the annual celebration of “Arabian business achievement awards KSA 2013”.

Dar Al-Arkan was rewarded during a celebration organized by Arabian Business at Alfaisaliah Hotel in Riyadh.

Yousef Al-Shalash, chairman of Dar Al-Arkan, expressed the company’s pride winning the award for Alqasr Mall.

Al-Shalash said: “Alqasr Mall is characterized with its strategic location in Riyadh city, being a commercial outlet for the residents of Alqasr Project and vicinity inhabited by a population of more than million people. “

He said the mall is one of the largest shopping centers in the city of Riyadh with a gross leasable and recreational area of 78,000 square meters, and a total built-up area of (250,000) square meters, the largest land designated for a shopping center in the city”.

He said: “The Mall succeeded to attract large numbers of lessees, retailers and famous brands and trademarks, attaining high lease rates of 85 percent in a short time owing to its unique strategic location, luxurious and enchanting internal designing, and availability of facilities and services”.

Al-Shalash said Dar Al-Arkan succeeded to create a blended assortment of commodities, services and entertainment amenities for the site, and was able to attract the best of the famous local and world brands and trademarks with an intention to meet needs of shoppers and lessees and address different tastes and age groups. He pointed out that the Mall started to receive shoppers and visitors since the mid of 2012.

Alqasr Mall accommodates 350 retail shops beside a fun zone, food court and a two-story parking lot with a capacity of more than (2,200) cars, in addition to an integrated network of main facilities and recreational amenities, a wide and sunny lobby equipped with 4 see-through glass elevators, (28) escalators and 14 elevators linking all mall floors and sectors.

The mall’s external facade is uniquely designed to be used at night as a moving hoarding of 800 meter length, which can be used for advertising.

The mall is equipped with state-of-the-art building management system which uses more than 100,000 electronic sensors to control, monitor and optimize the functioning of the building mechanical, and electrical facilities.
