The past decade in the Kingdom has been witness to huge investments in education and research as part of the king’s vision and the government’s strategic plan to make Saudi Arabia a knowledge-based economy in the coming years. Thus, the private sector too has been encouraged to orient itself with this broader developmental goal. Scheduled to open in 2016 and managed by Saudi Aramco, King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (KACWC) is one such laudable effort to create centers of learning, knowledge and research.

The project was awarded in 2010 and the construction kicked off soon after, providing huge opportunities for local manufacturing companies like Electronic and Electrical Industries Corporation (EEIC) to partake in this monumental undertaking. Specialized in providing power and automation solutions for industrial infrastructures, EEIC was contracted to supply medium voltage switchgears and the Panel boards for the main buildings and the center’s mosque.
