Home Centre, the region's leading home retailer, is marking the holy month of Ramadan this year with "Share a Table" initiative that encourages a cross section of communities to come together and share a meal during iftar celebrations.
As part of the initiative, Home Centre had lined up a series of iftars regionwide. In Riyadh, Home Centre invited children from Charitable Association for Orphan Care, a non-profit organization that takes care of more than 24,000 orphans by providing various forms of moral and material support for these kids. Hosted on June 22 at Home Centre store on King Abudllah Road, the iftar gathered few of these kids for a fun-filled evening.
Mederic Payne, CEO, Home Centre, said: “This Ramadan, we wanted to encourage people to share a table to spread the message of generosity and hospitality. Through our Share a Table initiative, we wish to highlight the importance of cherishing family life through such special occasions.”
The venue was decorated with Home Centre’s signature Ramadan collection. Festive centrepieces, fine china crockery and tableware, traditional lanterns and aesthetically crafted accessories set the mood for an iftar to remember. A specially designed three-course meal was catered with special dishes based on the recipes featured in the Home Centre Ramadan Catalogue 2015. A special gift was given out to every child as a surprise element at the event.
Sulaiman bin Saud Al-Odilah, PR manager of Ensan organization, said: “We thank Home Centre for this gesture of goodwill toward our students and their families. The kids enjoyed every moment of the evening. They had elated smiles on their faces as they celebrated the iftar with their friends in a completely joyful and familial atmosphere. It is these small acts of kindness that make a special difference and reflect the true spirit of Ramadan.”
