With its ongoing strategy to develop competencies for Saudi employees, L’Azurde, a major gold and diamond group, organized an intensive training course for Saudi showroom managers and retail salesmen, in order to develop their skills in the field of selling jewelry.

The training also aimed to raise their skills in explaining to the customers the four diamond elements — cut, clarity, color and carat weight. L’Azurde added a fifth element to this list called customer confidence. These elements influence the quality and price of diamond collections and hence their relevance to customers’ needs. The course was based on fine-tuning the skills of sales staff in the field of gold and gems. The course included sessions of theoretical training and practical application.

L’Azurde has been training Saudi staff as part of its objectives to develop a culture of sales and create employment opportunities for Saudi youth.

The group has also been paying attention to human resources, in order to raise their efficiency and increase their effectiveness in productivity, and equip them with the skills and experience that will help them do their jobs effectively.

Saud Al-Harthi, one of the L’Azurde showroom managers, explained why this training course is so important. “Training plays an effective and significant role in the development of individuals, especially in honing their skills and sharpening their capabilities, and preparing them to be equipped with technical information and customer relations.”

The trainees expressed their appreciation to the management for their interest in such courses, as they are of immense use to Saudis looking for job opportunities.
