The Royal Commission for Jubail (RCJ) has agreed to allocate a large proportion of Jubail lands for manufacturing establishments according to its strategic plan to develop petrochemical industries in the Kingdom.

Stating this, Ahmed bin Mutair Al-Balawi, GM of technical affairs in the RCJ, said: "The RCJ is keen on applying international standards and high quality level in implementing its projects, and selecting clear, detailed and problem-free designs along with the best contractors," confirming that there is no stalled projects, but they are only delayed.

The RCJ is distinguished by its project supervising and consulting committees composed of professional Saudi cadres, in addition to its clear procedures for projects' management and appropriate planning studies to create neighborhoods and industrial zones, the official said.

Al-Balawi stressed that there are more than 60 contractors and about 100 contracts with the RCJ, noting that the commission held recently a conference to showcase the construction opportunities in Jubail, contracts that will be offered through the current and next years, approved budgets, as well as some of the information on the private sector, especially in the field of housing.

Moreover, several contracts were awarded for establishing the RCJ University College, expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2020. Also, working and coordination are currently held with the Saudi Arabian Airlines and licensed aviation, as well as the Civil Aviation and the Ministry of Defense, to create the new airport, as the commercial operation of the airport requires a lot of work with the private sector and the relevant authorities, he said.

On road projects in Jubail Industrial City, Al-Balawi said: "Many road projects were completed like Jubail-Ras Al-Khair road that was opened since the beginning of this year, and the rest road projects are under implementation."
