Samba Financial Group announced that it will provide 500 housing units fully furnished for disadvantaged individuals and families in Saudi Arabia. This will be completed and delivered in five years, at a rate of 100 units per year.
Samba’s decision to launch the initiative has been underpinned by basic humanitarian principles and the belief that adequate housing, and the comfort and security that it brings, should be a universal right.
It is also a reflection of the company’s recognition that addressing important social issues should be viewed as the responsibility of both the public and private sector, and that the most effective solutions are found by engaging all stakeholders.
Eisa Al-Eisa, chairman of Samba Financial Group, said: “Samba’s housing initiative, with its meaningful social and development aspects, is a practical translation of the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.”
Al-Eisa added: “It has been designed to provide adequate housing for those members of the community that are most in need and supports the Ministry of Housing toward achieving this objective.”
Al-Eisa said: “The target groups for this initiative are predominantly low income families and individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds that face difficulty in securing adequate housing in Saudi Arabia. These include people with special needs, the elderly, widows and divorcees.”
The housing initiative will become the nucleus of a range of further programs that will align with Samba’s integrated corporate social responsibility strategy.
This has been adopted by the group to serve the community based on the most pressing and important needs, including education, job creation as well as housing provision.
Through this strategy, Samba seeks to effect positive change and improve the quality of life for the disadvantaged members of the community.
