Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, is showcased its leadership in intelligent health care solutions at the tree-day Second Saudi Forum for Planning and Design of Hospital, which ended on Thursday in Riyadh.

Deputy Minister of Health Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz visited the Schneider Electric booth at the exhibition held on the sidelines of the forum.

Schneider Electric in its presentation during the "Hospital of the Future" session focused on how the infrastructure for intelligent health care facilities helps face the challenges of today and tomorrow at hospitals.

The forum was organized with the support of the Ministry of Health and the Saudi Umran Society, an association of Saudi health care architects. This year’s forum was titled ‘Constants and variables in hospital planning and design.’ Yves Renaud, marketing director, health care solutions, Schneider Electric, said: “Globally, the demand on health care systems is increasing exponentially with populations registering unprecedented growth. This places enormous pressure on health care providers in terms of financials, hospital productivity, patient safety and satisfaction, and management of the physical building itself.

“In this scenario, building a hospital becomes even more daunting. Hospitals need to meet the challenges and ensure superior patient care that is sustainable. All this requires behind the scenes work and IT plays an important role that significantly impacts the infrastructure of health care facilities. Health care solutions now need to be integrated so that the advances of ICT and other mobility solutions are incorporated into the holistic offering of hospital build.”

At the exhibition, Schneider Electric demonstrated its EcoStruxure solution for health care. The software provides facility-wide visibility and access to critical data, helping to ensure hospital financial health and patient safety, as well as optimal staff productivity, hospital security, and an environment of care.
