The Philippine Embassy sent last week an “Embassy on Wheels (EOW)” team to the Ras Tanura Islamic Cultural Center to extend consular services to Overseas Filipinos (OFWs) in the region now touching 180,000, according to Ambassador Ezzedin H. Tago.
“I would like to thank the directors of the Ras Tanura Islamic Cultural Center for their support to the Filipinos in Ras Tanura for allowing the embassy to use their premises for free as the venue for the EOW,” he said.
The five-member consular team headed by Vice Consul Saret Paulo V. Saret extended consular services to 520 OFWs from Ras Tanura and nearby cities, served 445 passport applications, 32 notarial services, three registrations of birth and 16 passport extensions. The team also released 75 new passports.
Saret also thanked the Filipino community in Ras Tanura for “their valuable support and assistance during the two-day consular outreach mission.” He also advised passport applicants to check the status of their new passport on the embassy’s website four weeks after application. Passports ready for release will be posted on the website and can be claimed though the scheduled EMW in Alkhobar.
Aside from Vice Consul Saret, other members of the EOW team included four passport encoders.
