When you have dry or dehydrated hair, you need to give it close attention and care to help it bounce back to health.

Hair masks are the perfect way to restore the lost moisture and shine. DIY (Do It Yourself) is the best way to get the whole benefit without parting with a huge amount of money at the salon using hair care products with harsh chemicals. Instead, get into the kitchen and design your own hair mask to suit your needs- it is great because it doesn’t need any special skill or time.

There are a great variety of masks that you can try now with very limited ingredients and in a very short time.

Honey and Olive oil mask:

Honey is known to be a great ingredient for hair and skin.

Mix 4 tablespoons of honey with 6 tablespoons of olive oil and you’ll get a fantastic nurturing mask that will transform your hair into a wonderful mass of moisturized, shiny locks. Cover your hair in a plastic film and let the nourishing mixture sit on your hair for 15 to 30 minutes, finally rinsing it off with warm water.

Milk and honey mask:

It is also known as the Cleopatra mask. This combination to salvage dry hair has been known to be a luxury for hundreds of years now. It only needs to be done once or twice a week.

Use a half to a full cup of full fat milk at room temperature and add 2 tablespoons of honey. Mix well and bring the honey to melt, then pour it over your hair and massage the scalp. Wrap it up in a bun and plastic wrap and keep it for an hour. Then wash it off with shampoo. You will love the shine and healthy look of your hair after this mask.

Split ends mask:

If you have damaged hair with split ends you would probably need to invest your time and energy in this mask.

Please be informed that this mask is not sufficient to get rid of your damaged ends, so you may need to chop the damaged parts off first, and then protect the new ends with this mask.

You’ll need two tablespoons of honey, one tablespoon of almond oil and one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Mix these together and slowly work the mixture into your hair and give special attention to the ends of your locks. Leave it in for 30 minutes or more then wash it off with warm water.

Strawberries mask:

You will love this mask; it doesn’t only make your hair smell delicious, but also softens your locks. Get a handful of fresh strawberries, one egg yolk and 2 big spoons of olive oil. Blend your strawberries until smooth and then mix in it with the rest of the ingredients. Leave it on your hair for 30 minutes and rinse it off with warm water.

Banana mask:

This mask is perfect for those who want smooth hair.

You will need two bananas, one tablespoon of coconut oil and another of olive oil and a third of honey.

Mash the banana until smooth and add the liquid ingredients and them mix together. Leave it on your hair for 15 minutes and then wash it off with cold water.

Oatmeal mask:

This mask is perfect for those who have dandruff and especially those who have oily roots and dry ends.

You will need two tablespoons of oatmeal and blend it with some milk and a few drops of almond oil and mix them all together until you get a paste. Apply it on your hair and massage the roots and leave it in for 15 to 30 minutes then wash it off. Do it once a week for the best results.
