Last week, I started writing about the interview of Suzanne Somers with another giant cancer healer, Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez. His method is not much publicized or recognized by mainstream medicine, though he was an accomplished oncologist before he turned to integrative and alternative medicine. He discovered Dr. Donald Kelley’s healing potion of pancreatic enzymes through Dr. Robert Good’s direction, when he was the president of Sloan-Kettering Memorial Cancer Center, New York. Dr. Kelley’s records showed that he succeeded in healing thousands of cancer cases with the enzymes, healthy organic diet, and detoxification. Gonzalez applied the doctor’s healing therapy and practiced it successfully in his clinic for over three decades. Unfortunately, Gonzalez is not with us anymore to help cancer patients. The doctor died suddenly without warning last July. His patients shall definitely miss him. Now I shall continue with Ms. Somers 2009 interview.
Somers asks Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez of his ambitions when he was a young medical student. He says that his goal as a medical student in Cornell was to end up in Sloan-Kettering Memorial Cancer Center’s research lab. But, his direction changed after he worked with Dr. Donald Kelley, when he was still a medical student. He saw how Kelley’s natural cancer treatment worked effectively on patients, which made him decide to follow his footsteps, as he was reversing cancer through nutrition and natural cures. Though Kelley was an eccentric, he managed to work with him. The medical community repudiated his enzyme therapy, fearing the successes of his natural treatment.
Going back to the therapy, Gonzalez says it has 50 percent chance of success on stage IV cancer patients, but with un-metastasized pancreatic cancer. Previous treatments with chemotherapy and radiation reduce the chances of success of the therapy. Some of his treated patients have had their lives extended by seven years and more. Conventional therapy does not achieve such successes with the same type of cancer.
He says that sometimes they have to turn down pancreatic cancer patients who are terminal after having had chemotherapy, because their immune systems are totally wrecked by the treatment. They are unable to eat normally; the belly becomes swollen with fluids; and tumors develop all over the liver despite the chemo. He explains, “If we had drug company support, we could actually develop injectable forms of enzymes, which have been available in the past but currently are not available in United States by FDA edict.” It is unfortunate, because “injectable enzymes” could become the next natural gentle chemo. Well, you see how well protected drug companies are. That is why enzymes are given orally and patients can go home without hospitalization or its fees. Of course, oral enzymes are not as effective as the injectable enzymes. This is one of the issues that integrative and alternative doctors face. They are not allowed to apply certain natural cures or have them processed in order to treat untreatable cancers.
His patients come from all over the world. They are asked to spend two days in New York for evaluation of four hours in total, but they need to have all their medical records and history with them to keep the visit short and expenses low. Sometimes, they would need hair analysis, which gives accurate nutritional information. Some blood works are also required. According to the results of the above assessments, the patients are given computer-designed treatments as well as personalized diets along with the enzyme supplements. Another important part is the detox with coffee enemas and liver flushes, plus the juicing and filtered water.
When they go back home, they can begin applying the prescribed individualized therapy according to instructions. Flushing the liver is a five-day program to cleanse it thoroughly before starting the supplements. The first four days of the flushing they are given “something called Phosfood, a Standard Process product that dissolves gallstones and emulsifies bile.” It is taken with apple juice for four days. On the fifth day, they take Epsom salt to relax bile duct tubes and liver ducts. It is a process to follow meticulously and strictly.
Food should be very light during that period, but before bedtime, they should drink half a cup of olive oil on an empty stomach to stimulate the gall bladder ducts to contract. According to Gonzalez, “All this junk in the liver and gallbladder gets squeezed right into the intestinal tract” to get eliminated with the stools. While the liver cleansing is done orally, intestinal elimination is done through the coffee enemas. Apparently, gallstones are passed with the stools.
Drinking coffee is not the same as having enemas with coffee, says the doctor. Coffee taken orally switches on the sympathetic nervous system, which “shuts down the liver temporarily.” But when coffee enema is done, he explains, “It stimulates certain nerves that are only in the lower bowel that turn on the parasympathetic system, which through a reflex causes the liver to release all its toxins.” Therefore, coffee enema has a different mechanism than drinking it. He adds, “When the liver works better, everything works better” and “Dr. Kelley said cancer and all diseases begin in the gut — poor nutrition, poor absorption, pour digestion…”
Gonzalez insists on “getting all the digestive organs to work properly, including the liver and intestines” before the treatment. He says, “The key to success with any disease and with any therapy is to keep the gut working.” If it isn’t, then you can’t absorb anything and nothing will work. The digestive organs include the liver, gall bladder, pancreas, stomach, and the small and large intestines.
Gonzalez says that some of Kelley’s opponents blamed him for failing to treat actor Steve McQueen, but the reality was different. Conventional cancer protocols had already failed with Mr. McQueen when he decided to knock on Dr. Kelley’s door. According to Gonzalez, the actor also never stopped “smoking and wasn’t really following the program [Kelley’s therapy].” The actor’s death was automatically blamed on Kelley, but this did not stop Gonzalez from following his method, because of its many other successes in curing cancer. He says, “A scientist can’t walk away from that,” even though it would have been easier to take the other path along with its huge profits.
Gonzalez is not afraid of saying that “he [Kelley] was curing cancer.” He goes on telling about a patient who was diagnosed with “pancreatic cancer with metastasis in the liver” in 1982. The biopsy of the lesion in the liver confirmed at Mayo Clinic the metastasized pancreatic cancer, which happened to be the worst type. She was given two months to live. Her oncologist was honest to her and told her that chemo was out of the question. After research she found out about Kelley’s therapeutic program and decided to join it and applied it.
What was amazing, she was back on her feet, working at the family gas station 18 hours a day. Even Dr. Good, the president of Sloan-Kettering Memorial Cancer Center, and a world-class cancer expert, said, “he’d never seen a patient like that.” Twenty-seven years later, she called Gonzalez to refer a patient. Wouldn’t you call that cure? It was by chance that she discovered Kelley’s book on the shelf of a health food store and that was how she contacted Dr. Gonzalez.
