This is with reference to the news report “Turkey moves to crush terror on all fronts” (July 25), which I read with great interest.
The growing engagement by Ankara against Daesh is really welcome news for all peace-loving people. How long can Ankara remain just a spectator after Daesh suicide bombing, which killed 32 of its young social workers and wounded 104 at Turkey’s border town of Suruc?
These young Turks were on their way to build a kindergarten and children’s care center in the ruined Syrian town of Kobani, which Daesh failed to capture in an over four month siege.
Has anyone ever heard of Daesh doing anything good for the people except killing innocent children, women and elderly people. If this is really Islam, would we have a powerful nation of 1.6 billion Muslims in the world?
In the meantime, we came to know about another good news from Sri Lanka.
On the request of a large number of Muslim organizations in the island, Imams in every mosque in the country devoted the last Friday’s sermon to explain the congregation of the evil agenda of the Daesh and to warn the youths not to fall for the extremists’ enticing propaganda. — S.H.
