DUBAI: A Bahraini policeman has died from severe burns after a “terrorist” attack in April in a village close to Manama, the authorities said on yesterday.

The policeman “succumbed to his injuries” on Thursday after being “sent abroad to receive treatment for his burns,” the Information Affairs Authority (IAA) said. On Oct. 19, a 19-year-old policeman also died from injuries sustained when a homemade bomb exploded during clashes with protesters in the village of Akar.

More than 1,500 policemen have been wounded in Bahrain, the IAA said yesterday.
