The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is following with deep concern the impacts of the siege imposed on the inhabitants of FallujaH as a result of Daesh’s control of the city, which has badly affected the conditions of its inhabitants. The Iraqi Parliament has declared Al-Anbar a disaster province following the significant losses sustained by most areas and inhabitants of the Province and due to the ongoing battles with Daesh.

The General Secretariat expresses deep distress over the news coming from Fallujah about the killing and injury of thousands of Iraqi

civilians. The Iraqi Parliament called for urgent aids to be delivered to the besieged city and has voted unanimously for a esolution considering Al-Anbar a disaster province.

The OIC calls on the Iraqi Government to take necessary measures and give due attention to the serious humanitarian situation in Al-Anbar Province, especially the conditions of the inhabitants of Fallujah, and to work earnestly for providing safe corridors to the besieged population. The General Secretariat also calls upon all Member States and humanitarian organizations to give a helping hand urgently for the relief of those trapped in the city. The OIC reaffirms its readiness to work for the delivery of humanitarian aids extended by Member States through both the General Secretariat and the OIC Islamic Solidarity Fund.
