Tony and Suneet bag title in EBC event

The Evenlode Badminton Club hosted a men’s doubles tournament dubbed Shuttler’s Clash at the weekend in the club’s facility here.
The event featured six levels for different caliber players and this is also a BFSA-affiliated tournament. More than 200 teams from different clubs and of different nationalities from Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, India , Pakistan, Europe and Bahrain participated in the two-day tourney .
Jaffer Ebrahim, a world-ranked from Bahrain, graced the tournament, wowing the crowd with his lung-busting smashes and drop shots. Ebrahim is also a World Badminton Federation-approved trainer.
In a hotly contested Shuttler’s Clash premier match, Tony and Suneeth from Dammam defeated Bahrain’s Ebrahim and Nahaz Ommer in two sets 21-15, 21-12.
EBC President Tony Abraham thanked all the participants and chief guests and hinted there will be a second EBC tournament in the upcoming months.
