On the 4th week of the Almarai-FBGR Sunday Bowling League 13th Conference at Universal Bowling Center, the Proshop Strikers seized the Best Team of the Week award and Shawn Ricketts the Best Bowler of the Week accolade.
The league is sponsored by Almarai Company and organized by the Filipino Bowling Group of Riyadh (FBGR).
Proshop Strikers mentored by Ric Urrutia Jr. edged out Thales of Ryan Iñigo 19-16 in a 2-2 match with Freddie Santiago leading the charge on 852 followed by Ed Cruz 790, Butch Mateo 780, Vic Barrazona 736, Manny Lebrilla 736 and Urrutia 163.
Top scorer for the losing team was Nelson De Vera on 785 with Boy Mirando on 736, Iñigo 711, Ramon Chua 612, Cheng Lambo 579 and Nina De Vera 459.
Team Irene mentored by Dong Yamco upset defending champion Carry Over of Lulu Quejada 18-8 with Ricketts at the helm as he shot the high series of 864 on lines of 203, 197, 184 and 200 to claim the week’s individual award. He got splendid support from Irene Pua 781 and Stephen Solomon 715. Jao Urbano added 677, Dee Urbano 455 and Yamco 331 in two games played. Rodel Maranca led Carry Over on 829. Celis Viloria contributed 743, Quejada had 738, Dennis Gabriel 658 and Bembol Velasco 630.
IBG Storm of Ric Singson demolished Alinma Bank of Abdulrahman Ahmed handicapped by a blind score 18-3. Spearheading IBG were Thong Asuncion 794, Ric Singson 761, Marvin Arocena 729 and Arnold Jesena 687. Ian Choco made 449 and Zaldy Torres 370 in two games played. Jobert Pomado 791, Leo Mabunga 722, Fareed Aquino 790 and Jess Ambon 639 were the scorers for Alinma.
In another match, Alsalam Strikers mentored by Bandar Al-Marshad downed Almarai Co. of Jun Daniel 18-10.
Leading the way for Alsalam were Alfred Valencia 802, Bandar Al-Marshad 737 and Rollie Cleofe 732. Jess Vidal 437, Douglas Voughan 406, Lito Vega 380 and Efren Abuyo 372 rounded out the Alsalam scoring. Almarai had Jun Daniel on 807, Joel Batolina 740, Fhel Ramos 728, Doy Del Moral 716, Paul Decena 380 and Alex Armada 337.
In other matches, Look Up Boys of Ronald Bautista beat FBGR Selection of Mike Ecalnir 14-7, RG512 for Clothes of Yasser Mohamed edged Nadec Strokers of Lope Ramirez 18-16 in a 2-2 match and United Global of Arnel Balaoro defeated The Sweet Angel Viper of Angel Cassi 17-13.
