PM Abbasi meets with UAE envoy

  • The Emirati envoy expressed his country’s interest in investing in Pakistan’s oil and gas sector.

ISLAMABAD: Emirati Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi met with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Wednesday at the latter’s office.
Abbasi said he appreciated the UAE’s development and humanitarian assistance to Pakistan, particularly in remote regions. This is a manifestation of the strong bond between the two countries, he added.
He expressed “satisfaction” with “the increasing volume of trade between Pakistan and the UAE,” his office said.
He “stated that Pakistan offers good returns on investment” in the power, oil, gas, telecoms and financial services sectors.
Pakistani expats have played a vital role in the UAE’s development, and serve as a bridge between the brotherly nations, his office said. 
Abbasi conveyed good wishes on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan to the UAE’s people and President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.
Al-Zaabi thanked Abbasi, and expressed the UAE’s interest in investing in Pakistan’s oil and gas sector.
