In a ceremony held in Jeddah, Abdul Latif Jameel Motors (ALJ Motors), the authorized distributor of Toyota vehicles in the Kingdom, launched the new fifth-generation Toyota Avalon, one of the most popular full-size sedans in the world. The ceremony was attended by Randy Stephens, chief engineer of the 2019 Toyota Avalon, who flew in from the US to attend the ceremony, and Mazen Jameel, marketing director at ALJ Motors, accompanied by several senior officials from the company, along with a number of media representatives.
Prior to revealing the new 2019 Avalon, Stephens delivered a presentation where he introduced the philosophy of the vehicle’s development and its major changes and improvements compared to the previous generation.
“Throughout development we focused on the all-new Avalon being authentic and exhilarating. One of the key components in getting there was the new platform and suspension. These underpinnings allow us to provide an unequaled foundation to deliver the performance that matches the styling and the technology while offering a fine blend of luxury and sportiness in the premium full-size sedan segment,” said Stephens.
Jameel said: “The launch of the new Toyota Avalon 2019 in the Saudi market targets guests who aspire to own a vehicle that combines elegance and sportiness, not to mention the exceptional comfort of the spacious passenger cabin, the exciting entertainment features, and the many safety features that offer the driver and passengers unparalleled levels of fun and excitement.”
During the ceremony, which marked its official launch in the Saudi market, the new 2019 Toyota Avalon was revealed to the attendees and media representatives were invited to test drive the new vehicle.
Adding to its many features, the 2019 Avalon draws upon Toyota’s New Global Architecture platform — an entirely new strategy to the way the company designs, engineers and packages its vehicles, providing a comfortable and stable ride with superior handling characteristics. While retaining Toyota’s traditional values of superlative build quality and safety, the platform injects a fun driving experience that plays on all the senses. In addition, the new multi-link rear suspension allows for the enhancement of many performance attributes, such as a wider rear track, lower center of gravity and an aggressive stance. Drivers can also adjust Avalon’s ride feel with the simple depression of a button — Normal mode prioritizes comfort, while Sport emphasizes handling with tauter, highly responsive footing without diminishing Avalon’s ride suppleness.
The new vehicle’s safety system is complemented with Toyota Safety Sense, an advanced safety technology package that includes Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, and Automatic High Beam.
