JEDDAH: The Saudi Red Crescent Authority will host the fifth consultative meeting between the Islamic Committee of International Crescent and the National Societies of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in OIC countries.
The meeting in Jeddah from July 23-27 will be attended by representatives of National Societies from 56 countries, as well as senior officials of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
Dialogue sessions will aim to unify efforts and facilitate joint humanitarian action in a range of areas.
Sessions will also discuss ways of harnessing digital transformation in humanitarian work, and the role of National Societies in the organizational, regional and international policies of the ICIC.
The event will focus on building partnerships in humanitarian work in the wake of the earthquake in Turkiye.
An exhibition staged in conjunction with the meeting will allow international organizations, associations and bodies to showcase their work and experiences in the humanitarian field.
