RIYADH: Saudia Cargo, the Kingdom’s national cargo carrier, and Riyadh Cargo, a subsidiary of Riyadh Air, a Public Investment Fund company, have signed an interline agreement to enhance the integration of their networks and expand access to global markets, providing customers with more flexible and efficient shipping options across regional and international markets.
The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation between the two parties by leveraging their respective expertise and capabilities, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Customers will gain access to a wider network of destinations and benefit from more flexible shipping options and more efficient cargo routes through key global trade corridors.
The agreement supports Riyadh Cargo’s expansion plans, enabling it to broaden its services and network, which currently includes London, Dubai and Cairo, as well as Jeddah, Madrid and Malaga, while also enhancing connectivity with upcoming destinations such as Mumbai, Kuala Lumpur and Dhaka. This supports its long-term goal of building a global network of more than 100 destinations by 2030.
Saudia Cargo Vice President of Revenue and Network Management Mansour Al-Asimi emphasized that the agreement embodies the belief in the importance of integration and cooperation in developing the
Kingdom’s cargo and logistics sector. He said it will provide more integrated solutions that support the smooth flow of trade and meet market needs more efficiently. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s objective of establishing itself as a global logistics hub and achieving sustainable growth for both parties.
Praveen Singh, vice president of cargo at Riyadh Air, said the airline is leveraging digital solutions to provide reliable services to customers in key international markets. He added that the agreement contributes to achieving this ambition by expanding Riyadh Air's network, opening new horizons for trade and reinforcing Riyadh’s position as a major gateway for the future of the global logistics sector.
The agreement will contribute to increasing cargo capacity and enhancing the efficiency of moving goods across international markets. It will also provide freight forwarders and logistics partners with more reliable and flexible solutions, enabling carriers to extend their services beyond their direct networks.
It also underscores Saudia Cargo’s and Riyadh Cargo’s commitment to advancing the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030 by enhancing the Kingdom’s global connectivity and solidifying Riyadh’s and Jeddah’s positions as integrated gateways for international trade and logistics.
