The intake of graduates is the first phase of a program to recruit 4,000 graduates in accordance with the directive of the Ministry of Civil Service.
The Ministry of Civil Service had earlier issued a circular to all ministries to provide job opportunities for Saudis according to a directive from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah.
“These appointments were made by Health Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah in keeping with the Saudization policy,” Dr. Khalid Al-Mirghalani, spokesman of the Ministry of Health, said on Sunday.
The spokesman said that those appointed were young graduates who held diplomas in health specializing in fields such as radiology, nutrition, anesthesia and laboratory work and physiotherapy.
Al-Mirghalani said the ministry released the list of new appointees on Sunday and their placement would be worked out in the coming weeks, he noted. He added that the new recruits would fill the existing vacancies in all sectors of the ministry.
On appointment, the new recruits would be asked to follow an orientation program before they took up their respective positions in departments in the government health sector. The program would help the graduates to fit into their new workplaces, he added.
The spokesman said the new appointees would be on a probation for a period of one year and that they were not expected to apply for transfers during this period.
