Bowlers help ICAD lift MCH Afternoon Cup

JEDDAH: A superb spell of fast bowling by Rizwan and Aashiq enabled ICAD beat Peeran Warriors by eight wickets to lift the My Care Hala Afternoon Cup, organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association.
Later, their batsmen Moazzam (46 not out) and Mohsin (32) finished off in style knocking off the required runs of 106 for 2 wickets.
Peeran Warriors won the toss elected to bat first. However, Rizwan (2 for 4) and Aashiq (2 for 21) and a wicket each for Hassan and Qaisar bundled them out for 105 off 15.2 overs only. Shahrukh was the lone batsmen to offer resistance top-scored with 41 while Shahid 18 supported him.
In reply ICAD knocked off the runs of 105 for 2 in only 11.2 over to give them their maiden MCH Cup title.
During prize distribution ceremony, chief guest Hamid Rana of My Care Hala congratulated the winner, runner-up teams and other individual performers.
He also assured JCA of the continuous support of My Care Hala’s management as part of their social responsibilities and commitment to the cause the game in the Kingdom. He went on to advise players of JCA to take full advantage of the Hala Cricket Academy, sharpen their skills and maintain their physical fitness under the watchful eyes of experts. The JCA CEO thanked MCH management and Samir Nidal Khan for sponsoring the 2nd consecutive JCA Afternoon League.
Earlier in the semifinals Peeran Warriors eased past Saudi German Hospital by 52 runs. Thanks to Hafiz (84) Farooq (70). In the other semi, ICAD routed Jeddah Shaheen by 8 wickets.
Individual awards:
Best All-Rounder: Taqi-Ur-Rahman of Saudi German Hospital (466 runs and 11 wickets).
Best Batsman: Raja Mohsin of ICAD (561 Runs).
Best Bowler & Best Emerging Player: Abdulrehman Mussarat Khalil of AJA (18 wickets) Service awards: Syed Azam and Zainul Huda (Umpires), Sayeed Ahmed (Scorer) and Amir and Hafiz (Ground Maintenance).

Peeran Warriors 219 for 7: (Hafiz 84, Farooq 70, Sajid 20; Kashif 4 for 28) beat Saudi German Hospital 167: (Waqas Khan 40, Sibthul Hassan 29, Afridi 4-24, Shahid 2-24, Faisal 2-25) by 52 runs.
