Many Saudi teachers still complain about their salaries. Although the royal decree is more than a year old, many private schools wouldn’t respond. It was stated loud and clear that no Saudi teacher should be paid less than SR 5000 a month while teaching in private schools.
Why is it so important to raise the salary of a Saudi teacher in private schools? Simply, because some of these 5-star schools accommodate many of the richest children in the world. Thus, it is not fair to be teaching a student who is wearing a watch that is worth double or triple your salary!

The latest statistics concerning the issue, by the end of 2013, proves that only 20 percent of private schools did follow the royal decree; While 80 percent are still maneuvering! Now many educators are optimistic about a near improvement as a new minister of education is assigned. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal is known to be a man of action in many of his duties. Will he correct the situation soon? We shall see!
