RIYADH: The Riyadh traffic department has closed down 202 car rental offices in the west of the city for disturbing the peace and several other violations.

This is part of a campaign by the department to clamp down on violations occurring outside these offices, which include double parking. The campaign has been overseen by Col. Ali Mihthil Al-Qahtani, director of the department, and commander of the western part of the city Capt. Sultan bin Minahi bin Rebeian.

Traffic officers impounded 72 vehicles because they were parked haphazardly in the Namar, Alshmeisi, Alshifaa and Alereija neighborhoods. Several citizens thanked the department for easing their suffering.
