A Saudi woman is searching for her Indian mother in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE),who was separated from her Saudi husband 35 years ago, Sabq.online paper said.

The Saudi woman, 41, has reportedly approached Dubai police to help her locate her mother, believed to be residing in Dubai, Sabq quoted a UAE newspaper as saying.

The Saudi woman told officials at the Women’s and Child Protection Department that she was six years old and her brother four when her mother was divorced from her father who sent her back to India. Accordingly, the father banned all communications with their mother for the last 35 years.

On their part, the officials in Dubai said they wanted to help the Saudi woman find her mother but the problem is that her mother could have changed her name or personal data.

In the 1970s, the Saudi man married the Indian woman. But after the birth of the two children, differences cropped up which prompted the man to take his wife back to India where he divorced her.

He took the two children and banned them from communicating with their mother.

The Saudi woman told reporters that an Emirati woman contacted her 15 years ago, informing her that her mother had moved to the UAE and married again. No further information was given which prevented the woman from communicating with her, the paper said.

She said she agreed with her brother to try to find their mother, and upon telling her husband about the situation, he brought her to Dubai following the death of her father two months ago, the paper said.
