RIYADH: Last week, police arrested 81 terror suspects who had plotted to disrupt security in the Kingdom. Authorities arrested six extremists, all of them citizens, on the day of the Najran mosque bombing, while another 18 were arrested on the day after the bombing. Most of them were Saudis with the exception of an Ethiopian and a Syrian.

Security personnel arrested the remainder of the suspects during the second week of the Hijri year over the span of just seven days. The police arrested 16 suspected criminals on Oct. 21 and 22. Two of them were from Sudan and one from India. The remainder were Saudis.

Eleven suspected terrorists were arrested on Oct. 23 and 25. On Oct. 24, four alleged terrorists were detained. All of them were Saudis.

On Oct. 26, the day of the bombing of Al-Mashad mosque, police arrested six Saudis. This number almost tripled the next day with a total of 16 arrests.
