RIYADH: Eighty nine percent of citizens want to develop professional and technical skills, according to a survey conducted by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) at the recently concluded 30th Janadriyah Festival.

The TVTC poll, which was a random survey of male and female visitors, also revealed that 79 percent of the respondents preferred to deal with Saudi technicians rather than expatriates, while 21 percent did not care as long as there was quality work produced.

As many as 78.6 percent of the visitors wanted family members to work in some technical and professional environment, while 18.7 percent were not interested and 2.7 percent against it. Among the respondents, 83 percent agreed that the TVTC’s participation in the event helped to motivate children to develop these skills.

Eighty one percent of the respondents were in favor of the cosmetics services provided by the women’s wing.

They were satisfied with the skill and efficiency of the trainees and education of technical colleges, while 17 percent said their skill was very good.

According to the poll, 88 percent of visitors said they benefited from the TVTC’s workshops, while 12 percent said they did not. A total of 57.5 percent said they were excellent and 36 percent said very good.
