JEDDAH: A new born girl died at a hospital after heavy rain cut off power and deprived her from oxygen, a newspaper reported.

Fatima was on a support machine when the power went off at King Khalid Hospital in Tabuk after rainwater leaked into wards, Okaz said.

“Power went off and the generators did not work. I asked the doctors to transfer the girl to emergency before power went off, but they refused. This is negligence and carelessness,” the girl’s grandfather Mohammed Al-Balwi said, adding that he would report the case to authorities.
