JEDDAH: The Kingdom is expected to get rain with a dip in temperature in most of its areas for a few days from the middle of next week due to a wave of climatic disturbances, says weather researcher Mohammed Al-Ghamdi.

He forecast that a cold wave will hit the Kingdom, with varying temperatures forming strong and rainy clouds and causing unstable weather conditions.

The areas to be affected are the northern areas and their coasts, Al-Ghamdi said.

These areas include Tabuk, Al-Qurayyat, Al-Jouf, the Northern Borders, Hail and Madinah, and the coasts from Haql to Rabigh, as well as Makkah.

Also affected will be the coasts from Jeddah to Qunfudah, and Riyadh, including Al-Dawadmi, Afif and Qassim as well as the Northeastern Province, parts of the Eastern Province, the southwestern mountains and the coasts.

Forecast for rain is, however, lower in south Riyadh and the high mountains because of an expected rise in temperature, he added.

Al-Ghamdi explained that the weather change will last for a few days before temperature drops when the Kingdom comes under the spell of cold wave.

He warned people against remaining on the hills or driving on the plains, and avoid becoming victims of rain, which is expected to be accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning.
