RIYADH: The first “International Conference to Combat Computer-related Crimes” under the sponsorship of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman goes under way on Nov. 10-12 at the University of Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University.

Dr. Issa bin Abdullah Al-Issa, dean of the College of Computer and Information Sciences, said , “We’re happy indeed in holding this first-ever conference in the Saudi capital under the sponsorship of Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Salman.”

He said the conference will cover various topics such as computer related crimes and characteristics and trends of modern legislation, laws and conventions, and domestic and international sanctions against crimes.

“It will also discuss criminal evidence collection and handling digital methods of investigation and crime detection methods, concepts and challenges of combating crimes, effects and moral and material losses resulting from the crime,” he said.

The conference will also address the work of existing bodies and institutions to protect the infrastructure for electronic information, highlighting their experiences and review of best practices in secure e-safety.

Participants in the conference include the ministries of interior, communications and information technology, National Information Center, among others.
