The Operation Decisive Storm to save the legitimate government and people of Yemen continues to gain support from all walks of life, including religious scholars in the Kingdom.

This was apparent from the call of the Saudi Council of Senior Scholars on Friday in support of the Saudi forces showing bravery and heroism on all fronts.

Stressing that the Saudi-led collation was launched to save the people of Yemen against the aggressive Houthi group which wants Yemen exclusively under their control, the council said the militants were only serving a foreign agenda

Dr. Sheikh Fahad Al-Majed, secretary general of the council, said: “We pray to Allah Almighty for the safety of all military forces and Yemenis. The Standing Committee of the scholars has already issued a fatwa, number 9,248, giving clear support to the operation."

He said that it is also stated in the fatwa that whoever is killed for the sake of the Almighty Allah, in battle with the enemy, will be considered a martyr whose body is not to be washed or shrouded but buried with the clothes he died on.

Corporal Suleiman bin Ali Al-Maliki is a martyr and is entitled to the reward martyrs get, Al-Majid said, quoting a verse from the Holy Qur’an “Think not of those who were killed for the sake of Allah dead, but alive with their Lord.”

“We recommend his fellow military personnel, who are stationed at the mouths of the nation, and who are assigned to combat duty in a decisive storm seeking the reward from Almighty Allah as this is one of the greatest deeds closer to Allah, while they are in defense of the sanctity of religion and Muslims,” Al-Majed elaborated.

“We seek and pray for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and the Crown Prince that they be granted what is best in the interest of Islam and Muslims.”
