RIYADH: Djibouti Ambassador in Riyadh Diaa-Eddin Saed Bamakhrama was recently decorated with his country’s National Independence Medal of the First Class degree of a commander.
Djibouti’s President Ismail Omar Guelleh issued a decree granting Ambassador Bamakhrama for his efforts in the service of his country.
The honor was awarded to the ambassador for his services rendered in the Saudi-Djibouti bilateral relations in all sectors and with his country and the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC).
Bamakhrama told Arab News he considered it as a great honor to receive the medal on the recommendation of his country’s president.
“I will do my best in the discharge of my duties to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries,” he said.
Last week, Saudi Arabia donated a large consignment of civil defense equipment to Djibouti.
The consignment was handed to Djibouti Prime Minister Abdolqader Kamil Mohamed by the Kingdom’s Director General of Civil Defense team Sulaiman Al-Amro in the presence of Saudi Ambassador in Djibouti Abdulaziz Daoud and Bamakhrama.
The presentation of the gifts was held at a ceremony in the presence of Djibouti’s senior government officials and guests, where Al-Amro was decorated with a medal in appreciation of his services to Djibouti.
